UseMapMiner privacy & data practices

Effective date: April 18, 2026 · Product: UseMapMiner (“MapMiner”) Chrome extension and related website services operated by MapMiner, Inc.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our website (usemapminer.com), create an account, subscribe to paid plans, or install and use the UseMapMiner Chrome extension (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. A broader legal hub—including additional disclosures where applicable—is available at Legal & Policies.

1. Local processing (core)

UseMapMiner is designed as a local browser utility. Organization of publicly visible business listings, structuring of fields for your workflow, and generation of CSV or similar export files occur on your device within your browser, subject to how you configure the extension. We do not operate the extension as a remote “cloud” research hosting service that pulls your outputs to our servers: the practical work of assembling and exporting your tables is performed in your local environment.

Nothing in this section limits your responsibility to comply with applicable laws, third-party website terms, and our Terms of Service when using the Services.

2. No harvesting of your research outputs on our servers

We do not use the Services to track, monetize, or warehouse the specific business-directory rows, notes, or CSV files you organize for your own research. We do not sell personal data. The structured directory-style information you prepare in the extension is not uploaded to developer-operated databases for resale, model training, or unrelated analytics as part of the product design described here.

We may process limited technical and account data as described below (for example, to keep you signed in or to validate a subscription). That is distinct from your local research exports, which remain under your control on your machine unless you choose to share them elsewhere.

3. Authentication & payments

Authentication and sessions. We use Supabase for user authentication and session management (for example, sign-in state tied to your account). Supabase processes credentials and session tokens according to its own infrastructure and terms; we configure it solely to operate accounts for UseMapMiner.

Subscriptions. Active subscription validation for paid tiers is handled through Gumroad’s APIs and checkout flows as integrated with our Services. Gumroad processes payment card and billing details on its platform; we do not store full payment card numbers or comparable sensitive payment authentication data in our own application databases.

Our role. We do not intercept payment card data for independent storage on our servers; payment processing is delegated to Gumroad (and its processors) under their policies. You should review Gumroad’s and Supabase’s privacy documentation for details specific to those services.

4. Contact & updates

Questions about this Policy may be sent to privacy@usemapminer.com. We may update this Policy from time to time; the effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy where permitted by law.

For region-specific rights (including GDPR and CCPA-style disclosures where applicable), see the extended privacy discussion in our Legal hub.
