Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your access to and use of the MapMiner Chrome Extension, associated web application, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"), provided by MapMiner, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By installing the Extension, creating an account, or otherwise accessing the Service, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms, and references to "you" include that organization.
The Service is provided exclusively for lawful business-to-business research, market intelligence, and data organization purposes. You agree to use the Service solely in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations, including — without limitation — the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), the CAN-SPAM Act, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and any applicable anti-spam or data-protection legislation in your jurisdiction. You must not use the Service to collect, synchronize, or process data from websites that expressly prohibit such activity in their own terms of service, nor may you use the Service to obtain personal data for consumer marketing without proper legal basis.
License Grant & Restrictions
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and timely payment of all applicable subscription fees, the Company grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension solely on devices you own or control, for your internal business operations. You may not: (i) sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, or assign the Service or your right to use it to any third party; (ii) reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of the Service; (iii) modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Service; (iv) use the Service to build a competing product or service; or (v) access the Service by automated means other than through the Extension itself, including via unauthorized bots, bulk automation tools, or crawlers directed at our own infrastructure.
Subscription, Billing & Termination
Access to premium features of the Service requires a paid subscription, billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. All fees are stated in US Dollars and are exclusive of applicable taxes, which you are solely responsible for. We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with thirty (30) days' written notice to your registered email address. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and no partial-period refunds will be issued except as described in our Refund Policy below. The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you materially breach any provision of this Agreement, engage in fraudulent activity, or if your account is used in a manner that poses a security risk or legal liability to the Company or its other users.
Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including — but not limited to — implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Company does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components, nor does it warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data surfaced by the Extension. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Company's total cumulative liability to you arising out of or related to this Agreement shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to the Company in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to such liability, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100). In no event shall the Company be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Data accuracy and completeness are not guaranteed. Always verify business information independently before outreach.
- The Company is not liable for any third-party platform actions, including account restrictions, resulting from your use of the Service.
- Force majeure events — including but not limited to internet outages, regulatory changes, or third-party platform changes — shall not constitute a breach by the Company.
- This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware.
Privacy Policy
MapMiner, Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of the individuals whose data you interact with through our Service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, your choices, and your rights under applicable data-protection laws including the GDPR (for EEA residents) and the CCPA (for California residents). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect About You
We collect two categories of data: (1) Account Data — information you provide directly when registering, such as your name, business email address, company name, billing details, and subscription preferences; and (2) Usage & Telemetry Data — anonymized, aggregated information about how you interact with the Extension, including feature usage frequency and session duration. This telemetry data contains no personally identifiable information and is used exclusively to improve product quality and stability.
How We Use Your Information
We use your Account Data for the following strictly limited purposes: to provision and maintain your account and subscription; to send transactional communications (receipts, security alerts, product updates); to respond to support requests; to comply with legal obligations; and to enforce this Agreement. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share your Account Data with trusted sub-processors — such as our payment processor (Stripe), cloud infrastructure provider (AWS), and email delivery service — solely as necessary to operate the Service, and only under data-processing agreements that impose equivalent privacy protections.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your Account Data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations (typically no longer than 7 years for financial records). Upon account closure, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 60 days, except where retention is required by law. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@usemapminer.com. Requests will be fulfilled within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements. Because research output and exports are stored locally on your device, deletion of that data is entirely within your own control and outside our systems.
Your Rights
- Access & Portability: You may request a copy of your Account Data in a structured, machine-readable format at any time.
- Correction: You may update or correct inaccurate personal information directly in your account settings or by contacting us.
- Erasure: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal obligations.
- Objection & Restriction: You may object to or request restriction of certain processing activities, including any profiling based on your account data.
- Withdraw Consent: Where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Lodge a Complaint: If you are an EEA resident, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority.
Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses strictly necessary cookies to maintain your logged-in session, as well as optional analytics cookies (powered by a privacy-first provider with IP anonymization enabled) to understand aggregate traffic patterns. We do not use advertising cookies or share data with ad networks. You may opt out of analytics cookies at any time via the cookie preferences panel accessible in the website footer. The Extension itself does not set any cookies on the websites you visit.
Refund Policy
We stand behind MapMiner with confidence. Our goal is for every customer to succeed with the product. If for any reason you are not satisfied within your first seven days, we will make it right — no questions asked. This policy applies to all new individual and team subscriptions on both monthly and annual plans.
How to Request a Refund
To initiate a refund, email billing@usemapminer.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject line "Refund Request." Please include your full name and the email address on your account. You do not need to provide a reason, though we sincerely appreciate any feedback that helps us improve. Our billing team will process your request and confirm your refund within 2 business days. Refunds typically appear on your original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
Eligibility & Exclusions
The 7-day money-back guarantee applies exclusively to your first purchase of a MapMiner subscription. Subsequent renewal charges, plan upgrades, and additional seat purchases are not eligible for refund under this policy. Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
- The refund request is submitted more than 7 calendar days after the initial purchase date.
- Your account has been suspended or terminated due to a violation of the Terms of Service.
- The refund request is for a renewal charge on an existing subscription (you must cancel before renewal to avoid future charges).
- The purchase was made through a third-party reseller or app marketplace; in such cases, the reseller's own refund policy applies.
- You have already received a refund for a prior MapMiner subscription.
Cancellation vs. Refund
A refund and a cancellation are distinct actions. Cancellation stops future charges and allows you to continue using the Service until the end of your current billing period — no refund of fees already paid is issued upon cancellation alone. A refund returns the fees paid and immediately terminates your access to premium features. If you are within the 7-day window and wish to discontinue entirely, requesting a refund is the appropriate path. To cancel without a refund, you may do so at any time from the Billing section of your account dashboard.
Annual Plans
Annual plan subscribers are eligible for the same 7-day full refund on their initial purchase. After the 7-day window has closed, annual subscriptions are non-refundable in whole; however, you may cancel at any time to prevent automatic renewal at the end of the annual term. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for unused months remaining on an annual plan.
